Welcome: Ana Martinez

Anastasia (Ana) Martinez is a relationship builder, researcher, and communicator. She is also our new Senior Campaign Manager!

Growing up on the Eastside of Toledo, Ohio, the inequities she saw in her school district and city led her to pursue a career in public service. To broaden her perspective, she moved to Massachusetts, where she became the founding middle school social studies teacher, developing and teaching a social studies curriculum which encompassed a wholesome look at World and American history.  

Afterwards, she worked at the Massachusetts Budget and Policy center, a public policy think tank researching and advocating for racial and economic justice.  There, she collaborated with grassroots groups, community organizers, researchers, legislators, unions, and student organizers to shape public higher education policy and research through an Antiracist, community centered lens. Most recently, she packed her bags and moved back home to Ohio to work for state Senator Teresa Fedor’s office, assisting in preparation for key committees by tracking upcoming bills, proponent and opponent testimony, public opinion of bills, and crafting potential questions for testimony. Here, she also learned the inner workings of the Ohio Statehouse. Ana is motivated to use her background and skills to fight for an Ohio where all can thrive, especially girls, women, and femmes.

Ana holds a B.A of Public Policy from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Curriculum and Instruction from Boston University and loves reading, yoga, and her cat Wally. Welcome, Ana to our team!
