Ohio, you really did your thing this election season!!! We join with Ohioans across the state in celebrating Governor-Elect Dr. Amy Acton and Senator-Elect Sherrod Brown, who both overcame the ugliest billionaire-fueled political attack campaigns in Ohio history. Their wins prove the power of our democracy, and as long-time supporters of abortion access and reproductive freedom, we look forward to working with both Acton and Brown in the fight for true Reproductive Justice and liberation for all Ohio communities.
We are also thrilled to share that our endorsed Ohio Supreme Court candidates are celebrating Election Day victories: Justice Jennifer Brunner was re-elected to the bench, and Judge Marilyn Zayas will be sworn into the Court at the top of 2027!
Both Brunner and Zayas will bring critical perspectives to the Republican-dominated Court, which strongly influences how Ohio’s Reproductive Freedom Amendment (RFA) is implemented. As Ohio’s existing targeted regulations on abortion providers (TRAP) laws continue to be litigated in the years ahead, we are grateful that Brunner and Zayas will have a say in upholding the will of the Ohioans who voted to pass the RFA in 2023.
THANK YOU for helping us spread the word about the importance of the Ohio Supreme Court and for voting down-ballot to ensure this victory!
While there is much to celebrate in Ohio and across the country, the work goes far beyond Election Day, and tomorrow OWA Action Fund kicks into gear to hold electeds accountable during the year-end Lame Duck session. If you want to take action today, click to donate and support the fight for Reproductive Justice in Ohio!
Yesterday showed us what we’ve known all along—when we show up to fight for our communities, we can harness more political power than any money can buy. THANK YOU for being with us in this fight!
