2022 Candidate Endorsements

Last Friday, Ohio’s Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas granted an injunction that renders ABORTION LEGAL IN OHIO as litigation continues in the lawsuit against the 6-week ban. While this is a huge victory, we are at a critical crossroads when it comes to the long-term future of abortion access in our state. This November, WE HAVE THE POWER to elect candidates who are committed to protecting Ohioans’ rights to self-determination and our full spectrum of decision-making for ourselves, our families, and our communities. Ohio Women’s Alliance Action Fund is proud to endorse the slate of candidates below who reflect a commitment to Reproductive Justice and help us advocate for issues impacting Black women, women of color, and gender nonconforming folx.

Ohio Supreme Court

Did you know that state courts hear 95% of cases in the United States? State courts often have the final word on high-profile policy fights, including reproductive rights, criminal justice reform, gerrymandering, and police reform. We have the power to turn the court this November by electing Justice Jennifer Brunner, Judge Terri Jamison, and Judge Marilyn Zayas! TAKE THE PLEDGE TO VOTE DOWN-BALLOT IN THE OHIO SUPREME COURT RACE!

United States Congress

As our country continues to grapple with the overturn of Roe v. Wade, it’s crucial that the most marginalized and directly-impacted voices are well-represented in Washington. State Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-9) have strong records of establishing and supporting policies that center the health, self-determination, safety, and dignity of BIPOC communities. That’s why we are proud to endorse them to run for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Ohio Secretary of State

Did you know that the Ohio Secretary of State oversees all elections in the state of Ohio and helps register companies to do business in Ohio? As an elected official, business owner, and single mom, Forest Park Council Member Chelsea Clark is well-positioned to defend democracy and support our growing economy as our future Ohio Secretary of State!

Franklin County Commissioner

Franklin County Commissioner Erica Crawley has been a consistent champion for families in Ohio through her commitment to improving maternal health outcomes, expanding access to mental health services, and increasing employment opportunities for low-income families. She is a mother, attorney, veteran, and former legislator in the Ohio House--we are proud to once again endorse County Commissioner Erica Crawley!

All of these champions for Reproductive Justice are right here in our state. YOU have the power to ensure Ohio’s elected officials align with YOUR values. Make a plan to vote on November 8 today, and don’t forget to vote all the way down the ballot for OWA Action Fund endorsed candidates!
